core valuesI’m pretty sure it was the first month of coaching I ever had where we explored my personal values.  My coach was great at helping me find words around them and deepening my understanding of those values.  This was hugely helpful as I moved into making big life-changing decisions in our work together.

Over the years, I’ve learned that when I’ve honored my values, I’ve been able to accomplish great things.  I soar and life gets a whole lot easier.

That’s why I have taken values work into marketing.  Marketing gets a whole lot easier and you can accomplish so much more when you are honoring our values.

In this work, I’ve noticed a big trend. All the coaches I have worked with are relationship oriented, creative and would much prefer to be coaching than doing marketing.  The people who teach marketing absolutely love marketing, are technically inclined and rely on facts and figures.

While the information these educators give is required in order to have an understanding of marketing, it can be very confining for those with opposite values.

Your values matter in marketing. At some point, you have to take what you’ve learned and apply your values to the marketing.  Use your creativity.  Use those ideas floating around in your head.  Follow those relationships in a way that honors your values.  You don’t have to give up your values in order to be successful at marketing.  In fact, you won’t be successful if you ignore them.

Go back to your values and trust in them.  Especially if the details of marketing are a challenge for you.  If you want some help, I’m offering a FREE 90 minute 2015 Marketing Planning workshop that starts with values.  Be one of only 10 coaches in this small group mastermind on December 10.  Reserve your spot at
